Combined low dew point compressed air dryer (abbreviated as combined dryer) is a low-dew point drying equipment that integrates refrigeration dryer and adsorption dryer. The medium freezer dryer has the advantages of no air loss and low energy consumption, while the dryer has the advantage of low dew point. The combined low dew point dryer developed by our company combines the advantages of both cold dryers and suction dryers, and maximizes the advantages of both by reasonably connecting pipes and capacities to achieve the highest cost performance. The combined dryer is mainly a combination of a refrigeration dryer and an adsorption dryer, and sometimes it is accompanied by corresponding filtration, dust removal, oil removal and other devices, so that the dryer can adapt to more complex gas environments.

Working Principles


Refrigeration Stage: Preliminary Cooling & Condensation

The combined air dryer begins with the refrigeration stage, where high-temperature, high-humidity compressed air is cooled. This cooling process causes gaseous water molecules to condense into liquid water, which is then separated and drained away. The refrigeration stage leverages energy-efficient cooling technology to reduce air temperature without excessive power consumption.


Adsorption Stage: Deep Dehumidification

After preliminary cooling, the air enters the adsorption stage, where a high-performance desiccant absorbs any remaining moisture. This stage ensures the air reaches an ultra-low dew point, far below what standalone refrigeration dryers can achieve. The desiccant is regenerated periodically to maintain its effectiveness, using a combination of heating and blowing cooling for optimal efficiency.


Heat Recovery & Energy Optimization

A key part of the working principle is heat recovery, where the dried, low-temperature air exchanges heat with the incoming high-humidity air. This pre-cools the incoming air, reducing the load on the refrigeration system and lowering energy consumption. The heated dry air is also used for desiccant regeneration, maximizing energy efficiency.

The Luoyou series dryer operates continuously under the conditions of rated working conditions (i.e., inlet temperature 38C, inlet pressure 7Kgf/cm2, relative humidity 100% and maximum load 100%), and the outlet dew point will be guaranteed to reach the original design value. To choose a refrigerated dryer correctly, it is necessary to take into account the actual flow of compressed air, pressure, temperature, ambient temperature, and the required pressure dew point temperature. When the "pressure dew point" of compressed air is required to be below zero, a suction dryer is a better device for compressed air treatment.
